Muscat: Total exports of Oman declined by 24.2 per cent to OMR9,416.9 million for the first eleven months of 2016, from OMR12,429.8 million for the same period of previous year, mainly on account of a fall in commodity prices.
The country’s export revenue from oil and gas dropped by 27.7 per cent to OMR5,257.2 million for the eleven-month period ending November 2016.
The non-oil sector showed a decline of 19.6 per cent in export value at OMR2243.2 million.
A major fall was witnessed in plastics and rubber exports, which plunged by 50.1 per cent to OMR128.1 million in the first eleven months of 2016, according to statistics released by the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI) on Sunday.
