Spoiled food destroyed in Oman

Muscat: 200kg of spoiled food items were found in a random inspection conducted by the Khasab Municipality, as announced on Tuesday.

The Directorate General of Regional Municipalities and Water Resources of the Governorate of Musandam announced the inspection campaign on shops that sell food items.

The inspection resulted in the confiscation of various food items, including pastries, vegetables and frozen meat. 200 kgs of food items were destroyed following the search.

The Khasab Municipality also visited a number of restaurants and food stores, and found a store in violation of legal health requirements for commercial stores.
