Drug addiction treatment centre to come up in Oman

Muscat: The old building of the Ibn Sina Hospital will be converted into a treatment and rehabilitation centre for drug addicts.

The Ministry of Health stated this in its response to the Shura Council regarding the ministry’s plan for utilising the building.

In its response, the Ministry said: “The Ministry has drawn up a plan to use the land of the former hospital, taking into account the provision of medical, health and investment services. A centre for the treatment and rehabilitation of patients with drug and psychotropic substance addiction will be established with funding from Petroleum Development Oman.”
