Over 25 persons caught trying to enter Oman illegally

Muscat: More than 25 infiltrators have been arrested by the Royal Oman Police (ROP), trying to enter the Sultanate illegally.

A statement issued online by the ROP said: "The Coast Guard Police Command has arrested 27 infiltrators of Asian nationalities on a smuggling boat near Al Sifah Beach in Muscat Governorate. Legal measures are being taken against them."

"The ROP calls on the community to join hands and provide more cooperation to tackle crimes of smuggling and infiltration, through immediate reporting, whether by calling the police operations center phone 9999 or contacting the nearest police station," the statement added.
