Omifco provides 3 refrigerated trucks to Omani Agricultural Association

Muscat: As part of the ongoing CSR (corporate social responsibility) efforts undertaken by Oman India Fertiliser Company (Omifco), three refrigerated trucks were provided to three branches of the Omani Agricultural Association at the governorates of Al Sharqiyah South, Al Sharqiyah North and Al Dakhiliyah.
The event took place at the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries Wealth and Water Resources recently and was presided over by the chief guest Dr Ahmed bin Nasser Al Bakri, Undersecretary of the Ministry for Agriculture, Engineer Khalid Al Fana - Manager of Foreign Affairs at Omifco and Sheikh Saed Al Kharousi – President of the Omani Agricultural Association.
Speaking on the occasion, Al Bakri said, “We appreciate the efforts taken by Omifco to help develop the agricultural sector of the Sultanate of Oman. The refrigerated trucks will be very useful in transporting fresh products to the areas around the governorates.”
Engineer Khalid Al Fana said, “We at Omifco believe that real progress happens only when we progress together and hope this initiative will support our community. CSR is one of Omifco's main focus areas and we strive to excel in it as well. With the support of our stakeholders and well-wishers, we hope to do more for our society in the future.”

In 2013, Omifco supported the association with three refrigerated trucks in the governorates of Al Batinah North, Al Batinah South and Al Dhahirah and now we have received three more trucks. We thank the management of Omifco for their consistent support to us,” said Sheik Saed Al Khrousi.
Oman India Fertiliser Company was established, as a result of an initiative by the Government of Oman and the Republic of India to operate a modern world scale two-train ammonia-urea fertiliser manufacturing plant in the Sultanate of Oman. Omifco is owned 50 per cent by OQ, 25 per cent by Indian Farmers Fertiliser Cooperative Limited (IFFCO) & 25 per cent by Krishak Bharati Cooperative Limited (KRIBHCO). The plant can produce 2x1,750 MT/day of anhydrous ammonia from 2 ammonia plants and 2 x2,530 T/D of granular urea from 2 urea plants.
