Oman government's efforts in diversifying its economy gain praise

Muscat: The Market Watch Corporation for Economic Consulting and American Media Services has praised the efforts of the Sultanate’s government in diversifying the national economy.
A statement issued by Oman News Agency (ONA) said, “The Market Watch Corporation for Economic Consulting and American Media Services praises the efforts of the Sultanate’s government in diversifying the national economy, stressing that the vision of Oman 2040 is expected to help the growth of the non-oil economy.”
In this context, Dr Ali Al Shidhani, who has been appointed the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology for Communications and Information Technology, said significant improvements to economic expansion would be made through innovation, research and providing the youth with the skills required to contribute to future development, which has been a priority of His Majesty Sultan Haitham Bin Tarik.
““His Majesty’s attention to the role of communications and information technology sector in supporting and promoting social and economic development has been evident since his first speech last February, as His Majesty’s messages were focused on encouraging innovation, employing artificial intelligence and advanced technologies, and providing young people with the future skills to enable them to contribute to building the nation and progressing its prosperity,” he said.
“His Majesty also stressed that the government will follow up the progress of this aspect; therefore, we, at the ministry, will review and reevaluate all strategies, plans and projects, and will set clear and specific goals and action programs to accelerate the digital transformation and complete the implementation of e-government,” added Al Shidhani.
