Oman's Grand Mufti issues statement on Libyan ceasefire

Muscat: The Grand Mufti of the Sultanate has declared familiarity, love and harmony between factions of the Libyan people.

Sheikh Ahmed Al Khalili, the Grand Mufti of the Sultanate, said in a statement on Twitter, "In the name of God, the most gracious, the most merciful, we received with great joy and tidings the news of the return of familiarity and harmony between the parties of the brotherly Libyan Muslim people. We were watching its (hostilities) breakout with fear and concern and it was by the grace of God Almighty that it subsided when the conflicting parties listened to the voice of reason and conscience.”

"We call upon all Libyan brothers to fear God Almighty, reconcile themselves, obey God and His Messenger, turn that blood-stained page and publish a bright new page with feelings of friendliness and brotherhood. They must make sure that their decision is in their hands and heal their rift.”
