Income tax, VAT law on State Council discussion agenda

Muscat: The State Council is all set for discussions on drafts of the VAT law and the income tax law when it holds hold its tenth ordinary sitting of the first annual session of the seventh term.
The sitting to be held on Tuesday will be headed by Dr. Yahya bin Mahfoudh Al Mantheri, Chairman of the State Council in the presence of the Council members and the Secretary-General of the Council.
During the sitting, the Council will discuss the draft "amendment of the Income Tax Law" referred by the Council of Ministers as a matter of urgency and the report of the Council's Economic Committee about it.
It will also discuss the draft Law on "Value Added Tax (VAT)” referred by the Council of Ministers as a matter of urgency and the report of the Council's Economic Committee about it.
In addition, the sitting will approve the minutes of the ninth ordinary sitting of the first annual session of the seventh term and review the report of the General Secretariat.
