Covid-19: Diam provides instalment options to affected customers

Muscat: The Public Authority for Water (Diam) decided to offer a package of incentives to ease financial burdens on its household water supply service subscribers among Omani citizens who suffered the brunt of coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, materially and economically.
In particular, Diam package targets private sector workers laid off from their jobs or those who had their salaries slashed, in addition to owners of small businesses most hit by the pandemic.
This was announced by Eng. Khalid bin Hamoud Al Habsi, Senior Manager, Billing.
He explained that the incentives include the payment of only 20 per cent of dues and rescheduling of outstanding payments till the end of 2020.
Eng. Al Habsi advised those who wish to avail the incentives to submit their applications to Diam via email, along with their respective salary certificates or letters (stating salary) from their head offices by 29 July 2020.
As for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), they have to submit authentication documents, including a copy of the Commercial Register in force, a certificate of affiliation to Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Water Account Number by 18 July 2020.
