Sanya Asian Beach Games likely to be rescheduled

The front of the medal comprises two parts, the first is a circle symbolising the brilliance of the sun and the moon; within the circle is the emblem of the Asian Beach Games and the image of the Tianya rock formation representing the history and culture of Sanya.

Kuwait City: The Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) said on Saturday that it is in discussions with the Chinese Olympic Committee and organisers to reschedule the 6th Asian Beach Games in Sanya, southern China's Hainan province.

"The Olympic Council of Asia and the Chinese Olympic Committee are in discussion to reschedule the dates of the Sanya Asian Beach Games due to the COVID 19 pandemic," the OCA said in a statement.

"The three parties have been in constant contact all year regarding the Asian Beach Games in Sanya and are closely monitoring the situation on a daily basis and working together closely to adjust the dates, if required."

"Once a decision has been made, OCA jointly with the Chinese Olympic Committee and the Sanya Asian Beach Games Organising Committee will announce the new dates regarding the sixth Asian Beach Games," read the statement.

The 6th Asian Beach Games are scheduled from November 28 to December 6, 2020.
