Store shut in Oman for violating consumer protection law

Muscat: The Public Authority for Consumer Protection (PACP), has shut down a commercial store in South Al Batinah Governorate for violation of the Consumer Protection Law.

A statement issued online said: "The PACP, has closed a commercial store in Barka for raising the prices of goods in an exaggerated manner, in violation of the Consumer Protection Law and its executive regulations and for taking advantage of consumers’ desire to shop in light of the coronavirus pandemic."

"PACP calls on all suppliers to adhere to the laws and regulations and not to exploit consumer need and to observe the rules of transparency and credibility in commercial dealings."
