Oman's share index ends marginally lower

Muscat: The MSM30 index closed at 3,508.47 points, down 0.09 per cent from previous close. The Sharia index ended down by 0.10 per cent at 519.12 points. Galfar Engineering, up 2.08 per cent was the top gainer while Al Madina Takaful, down 1.35 per cent was the top loser. Galfar Engineering was the most active in terms of number of shares traded and also was the most active in terms of turnover.
A total number of 259 trades were executed during the day's trading session, generating turnover of OMR379,000, with more than 4.2 million shares changing hands. Out of 31 traded stocks, 1 advanced, 5 declined and 25 remained unchanged. At the session close, foreign investors were net buyers for OMR17,000 while GCC and Arab investors were net sellers for OMR17,000 followed by local investors for OMR446 worth of shares.
Financial Index closed down by 0.15 per cent at 5,566.73 points, from previous close. Al Madina Takaful and Bank Muscat were down by 1.35 per cent and 0.59 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index closed at 3,958.53 points, up 0.04 per cent. Galfar Engineering was up by 2.08 per cent. Al Jazeera Steel was down by 1.02 per cent.
Services index was down 0.02 per cent before closing at 1,577.24 points. Musandam Power and National Gas were down by 1.26 per cent and 0.56 per cent respectively.
