Muscat: Not leaving a seat vacant between workers while they are onboard transport vehicles will attract a OMR 300 fine.
A Ministerial decision dealing with private sector establishments that violate the decisions of the Supreme Committee to deal with the spread of the Coronavirus COVID-19 lists out several hefty fines.
The Ministry of Manpower issued the decision and said, "Without prejudice to the stipulated fines, the Ministry of Manpower and the competent authorities have the right to close private establishments upon the recommendation of the epidemiological investigation team formed by the Ministry of Health."
The decision also stipulated a number of additional fines for violators such as, a fine of OMR 100 in the event of overcrowding of rooms by workers and a fine of OMR 500 for not providing isolation units for workers at their place of accomodation or not having a contract with a specialised establishment to provide this service with a security guard to ensure isolation.
A fine of OMR 300 will be charged for not dividing the workers in accommodation according to their distribution in the workplace with the availability of private toilets for each group and not finding a mechanism that limits the mixing of groups during meals.
