Two expats arrested in Oman on drug smuggling charges

Muscat: The Royal Oman Police (ROP), has arrested two expats who are linked to an international drug smuggling network. The police also seized certain amounts of drugs from them.

The ROP said in a statement: "The General Department for Combating Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances arrested two Asian persons linked to an international drug smuggling network, after careful operations of continuous monitoring and follow-up, where they were arrested at their place of residence in the wilayat of Muttrah."

"They were found to be in possession of 40 kilograms of crystal drugs and 23 kilograms of hashish."

"The ROP appreciates the efforts of citizens and residents in the fight against drugs through cooperation and informing the police about any actions by drug and psychotropic drug dealers by calling the hotline (1444) or informing the nearest police station," the statement added.
