Expats arrested for various crimes in Oman

Muscat: An expat has been arrested on charges of trafficking alcoholic beverages while five others were arrested for committing fraud, the Royal Oman Police (ROP) said.

A statement issued online by the ROP said, "The South Al Sharqiyah Governorate Police Command arrested an expatriate of Asian nationality for trafficking alcoholic beverages. Legal measures have been taken against him."

Another statement said, "The General Directorate of Criminal Investigations arrested five people of different nationalities for fraud through electronic application, assault and for stealing money from a person of Asian nationality. Legal procedures are completed against them."
