Drop in expat population in Oman

Muscat: Omanis comprise 60% of the total population in Oman, according to the National Center for Statistics and Information (NCSI).

NCSI said in a statement, "The latest statistics of the percentages of the population show that the percentage of Omanis reached 59.2 per cent which means they are 2,717,930 Omanis in comparison to the percentage of expatriates at 40.8 per cent (1,872,170) on June 21, 2020."

In 2017 June 21, the number of Omanis stood at 2,503,976 (54.7 per cent), while the number of expats was 2,069,642 (45.3 per cent)
