Muscat: The Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries will sign today an agreement with Al Sarooj Company to develop a fishing port in Musandam Governorate .
A statement issued online by the Oman News Agency (ONA), said: "The Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries will sign an agreement with Al Sarooj Company to develop a sea-fishing port in the wilayat of Dibba with a total cost of about OMR 40 million."
ONA also said: "The project includes four basic components to serve the fisheries sector and facilities for the tourism and commercial sector as well as the Royal Oman Police, along with many other service facilities for port visitors, where two breakwaters will be constructed with a length of (2000) metres, with a dock for the port with a depth of (10) metres while providing the breakers with navigation lights at the entrance."
"The Dibba Port development project comes within the government's plan to diversify the economy and work to develop fishing ports in the Sultanate to be an attractive environment for investments," the statement added.
