COVID-19 cases among expats crosses 11,000

Muscat: The number of reported cases of COVID-19 among expatriates in Oman has crossed the 11,000 mark, following the addition of 350 fresh cases of infection on Tuesday.
According to data published on the Ministry of Health’s Tarassud app, which provides daily updates on the COVID-19 situation in Oman and the rest of the world, 11,107 expats have so far been infected by the disease.
With the total number of COVID-19 cases reported in Oman standing at 18,198, the number of Omanis infected by the disease stands at 7,091. Expats make up 61 per cent of all reported cases, with Omanis accounting for the other 39.
Records also show that 2,502 expats and 1,650 Omanis have recovered, making for a total of 4,152 recoveries in the Sultanate. 53 expatriates and 30 Omanis have unfortunately died from the disease.
