His Majesty issues two Royal Decrees

Muscat: His Majesty Sultan Haitham Bin Tarik today issued two Royal decrees reading as follows:

Royal Decree No.59/2020 establishes the Special Office.

Article (1) stipulates that an office to be named "the Special Office" shall be set up and that this Office shall report directly to His Majesty the Sultan. Its organizational structure shall be endorsed by a Royal decree.

Article (2) states that the Special Office’s specializations shall be defined in accordance with the annex attached to this decree.

Article (3) states that the Special Office shall have a Head (of Office) to be appointed by a Royal decree and assisted by a sufficient number of employees of various specialties that are relevant to the Office.

Article (4) stipulates that the Special Office and its employees shall be governed by provisions of the Diwan of Royal Court’s Financial Law, as well as the Law on Pensions and End of Service Gratuity for Omani Employees of the Diwan of Royal Court -- promulgated under Royal Decree No.86/96 -- and the Law on Diwan of Royal Court’s Personnel System promulgated under Royal Decree No. 97/97.

Article (5) says that this decree shall be published in the Official Gazette and be enforced from its date of issue.

Royal Decree No.60/2020 appoints a Head to the Special Office.

Article (1) appoints Dr. Hamad bin Said bin Sulaiman al-Aufi as Head of the Special Office, along with his current Grade and financial dues.

Article (2) says that this decree shall be published in the Official Gazette and takes effect from its date of issue.
