Diwan of Royal Court issues circular regarding retirement policies

Muscat: The Diwan of Royal Court issues a circular to referring 70 per cent of employees who exceed 30 years of service are subject to retirement at some levels of employment.
In the circular it was stated that the High orders of His Majesty the Sultan ruled accordingly:
1. Not to renew the contracts of at least 70 per cent of foreign experts and consultants working in all civil government units without exception, upon the end of their contracts.
2. Referring no less than 70 per cent of Omani employees occupying the positions (consultant/expert/specialised manager) in all civil government units without exception to retirement from those who have completed the service (25) years or more, and no later than December 31, 2020, according to their seniority in the appointment until the above-mentioned percentage is met.
3. Referring no less than 70 per cent of the employees of all civil government units, without exception, whose services exceeded 30 years, to retirement, no later than the date of December 31, 2020, based on the arrangement of their seniority by appointment until the above-mentioned percentage is met.
4. The State Audit Institution shall follow up to the parties addressed according to this circular and subject to the control of the agency; to enforce the commands, the above statement.
The circular indicated that it is a prelude to the initiation of these orders; It requires from all sides should work towards the exit of the employees targeted for the off days due to them, as of the date of the issuance of this circular, and until the date of their referral for retirement, and a maximum of December 31, 2020.
