Tropical depression: Oman's defence ministry teams provide assistance

Muscat: The engineering services at the Ministry of Defence have provided technical support during the tropical condition in the governorate of Dhofar.

A statement issued online by Oman News Agency (ONA) said: "The Ministry of Defense teams have drained stagnant water at a number of government institutions in the Governorate of Dhofar. The ministry is also sending teams to fix various technical faults, connecting electric power generators with and they are ready to deal with any emergency, and provide support, whenever necessary."

"These tasks come within the framework of the integrated national efforts provided by the Sultan Armed Forces (SAF) and other departments of the Ministry of Defense in activating plans to contain the effects of the tropical condition witnessed by the Governorate of Dhofar," the statement added.

Heavy troop carriers deployed

The Royal Army of Oman has deployed heavy troop carriers in wilayat of Salalah in Dhofar governorate.

A statement issued online by Morale Guidance said, "The Royal Army of Oman has deployed a number of heavy troop carriers in several locations in Awqad region in the Wilayat of Salalah, due to the heavy rains."
