Two arrested for drug smuggling in Oman

Muscat: The Royal Oman Police, (ROP) arrested two expats on charges of smuggling and trafficking of narcotic drugs.

A statement issued online by the ROP said: "The Northern Al-Batinah Police Command, in cooperation with the General Department for Combating Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances, has arrested two persons of Asian nationality for smuggling and trafficking of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances in association with international gangs.Legal measures were being taken against them.

Meanwhile, Police Headquarters in South Al Batinah Governorate has detained and issued number of fine notices against a number of expatriates on charges of gathering in a public place and for not complying with decisions of the Supreme Committee dealing with the COVID-19
