R&N Khimji signs pact with Omani SME to promote green tech

Muscat: R&N Khimji has recently signed an agreement to provide support to Green Universe Enterprise (GUE), an SME founded and developed in Oman that designs green and sustainable technology.
“GUE is an Omani SME formed in 2017, and incubated by the Riyada programme under the Oman National Business Centre to promote green technologies in the Sultanate for a sustainable tomorrow.
“As we look to the future, it is the responsibility of established private enterprise to support young Omani entrepreneurs and companies to achieve sustainable growth,” said Aaditya Khimji, the managing director for R&N Khimji. “RNK is proud to bring GUE under our umbrella and to support its vision for renewable energy in the Sultanate. From our beginnings in civil construction and trade of building materials to the present where we focus on modern technologies," he added.
“We aim to provide optimal and efficient solutions that are required for infrastructure development,” he said. “The current global crisis has had major impact across the board, including a positive impact on the environment from reduced greenhouse gas emissions. As we come out of this crisis, we must innovate and accept technology that can allow for a more sustainable tomorrow.”
The founder of GUE, Sumaiya Al Rawahi, earned her undergraduate degree in renewable energy with a specialisation in solar energy from Oregon Institute of Technology and further completed her MBA from Xi’an Jiao Tong University in China.
Globalisation has allowed the world to scale, and her well rounded experience from the US and China positions her to best serve the Sultanate. GUE provides full engineering, procurement and construction services for renewable energy projects. Presently, the focus is on solar including on-grid and off-grid photovoltaic systems, solar water heaters, batteries, HVAC, lighting and more.
Further, GUE can design, install, and commission hybrid solutions of any size with the S2 certification provided under Oman’s Distribution Code Review Panel. Looking to the future, GUE intends to introduce other renewable energy resources to the local market such as concentrated solar power and wind energy.
