Muscat: Two low pressure areas are likely to develop over the Arabian Sea in the next few days, according to Oman's Public Authority of Civil Aviation (PACA).

While the first one is likely to form in the south-west Arabian Sea in the next 72 hours, the second one is expected in the south east of the Sea by month-end.

The PACA has issued a bulletin on the weather over the Arabian Sea.

The report issued by PACA said: "The analysis of National Multi-Hazard Early Warning Centre indicates a low-pressure area is likely to form over the south-west Arabian Sea near Socotra Island and it is likely to concentrate into depression in the next 72 hours."

"Cloud advection associated with isolated rain, and occasional thundershowers is expected along with the coastal areas and adjoining mountains of Dhofar Governorate starting from today May 27, 2020, and last for next three days," the report said.

Another low-pressure area is likely to form over the southeast Arabian Sea towards the end of May 2020.
