Over 60% Pakistani nationals willing to return to be repatriated this month

Muscat: More than 60 per cent of Pakistani nationals who have registered with the Embassy of Pakistan will be repatriated by the end of this month, revealed KK Ahsan Wagan, Ambassador of Pakistan, in an exclusive interview with the Times of Oman.
Wagan said since the launch of the data collection by the Embassy of Pakistan for Pakistani nationals wishing to return to their country, they have received 4,300 registrations. Out of those, 2,692 Pakistani nationals will be repatriated by the end of this month, May 31.
"In the month of April, we at the Embassy of Pakistan in Oman announced that Pakistani nationals wishing to return can get in touch with us. In this regard, we started collecting data of people who want to travel to Pakistan considering the availability of any special flights. So far, we have received 4,300 applications of those who wish to go back.
“Since we started the operation of special flights with the Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) and some with Oman Air, we have managed to repatriate a large number of nationals in Oman. In fact, by the end of this month, we would have been able to send 2962 Pakistani nationals from Oman,” Wagan said.
In terms of the special flights, the ambassador informed that seven flights by PIA and one flight by Oman Air has been scheduled starting from May 21 to May 31, 2020.
“By PIA, there will be two flights to Lahore on May 21, two to Multan on May 24, one to Faisalabad on May 29 and two to Islamabad on May 31. Moreover, there will be one special flight by Oman Air to Lahore on May 22,” Wagan added.
