Muscat Municipality releases new list of commercial activities allowed to operate

Muscat: Muscat Municipality has released an in-detail second list of activities which are permitted to open up their businesses but with some conditions applied.

Muscat Municipality announced that flower shops, boutique and shops for women dress and Abaya, shops selling beauty and makeup tools, watches and accessories stores and perfume shops are allowed to open their businesses by using apps and delivering the customers orders."

In addition, utensil shops and communication service halls are allowed to resume work, provided they adhere to social distancing and apply precautionary measures and safety requirements.

The municipality mentioned that this decision excludes the shops located in the industrial area in Wadi Al Kabeer and Muttrah.

The Supreme Committee which has been dealing with COVID-19 yesterday announced a new list of commercial activities that will allow resuming their business starting from today. Here's the list of commercial activities allowed in Muscat Governorate:

1. Car wash / only one customer is allowed

2. Car cleaning and polishing / one customer and external washing only

3. Car agencies (selling new cars) / following precautions.

4. Ironing and laundry shops - only one customer is allowed at a time.

5. Shops selling and maintaining mobile phones/work remotely. It is not allowed to open the storefront

6. Shops selling and maintaining watches / providing remote services and not opening the storefront

7. Consulting offices, lawyers' offices and auditing offices.

8. Shops selling construction materials, selling cement, brick factories, and cement products/delivery service

9. Carpentry workshops, blacksmithing, turning, aluminium/delivery service

10. Companies selling irrigation systems/delivery service only

11. Shops selling and maintaining water pumps/customers are not allowed to enter the store

12. Nurseries and selling agricultural supplies / two customers as a maximum

13. Bird and animal shops / Maximum two clients allowed
