Covid-19: Expats who left Oman can return if airports open, says Minister

Muscat: Members of Supreme Committee updates the media about the coronavirus outbreak.

Here’re the details:

1- Minister of Health: One person infected 17 members of his family including a one year old.

2- Minister of Health: One expat infected 70 people as they were living together.

3- Minister of Health: 31 patients are in ICU

4- 300 people tested positive in a wedding ceremony: Minister of Health

5- Minister of Health: A person was referred to court foe organizing Iftar

6- Minister of Health: A wedding was held in Oman last week and no one reported it. Almost 150 people attended and 300 people got infected with the virus.

7- Minister of Health: Death rate in Oman is 0.4%

8- Minister of Health: More than 61,000 test have been done so far.

9- Minister of Health: Please follow the measures so that we don't have to take more stringent measures.

10- Minister of Health: Sponsors will have to pay for treating expat patients, testing is free.

11- Brigadier Said Al Asmi: Too early to talk about Eid but parents must take care of their kids from going to Eid parties.

18 -Saif Al Abri: Sultanate test 2000 samples daily and we will continue to do test and we requested new rapid devices to perform faster tests, in addition we requested medical solutions that would cover the next six months.

19- Minister of Health: Al Wadi Al Kabir, Hamriya has more number of cases.

18- Minister of Health: Many gatherings were reported in the last one month especially during this time of Ramadan and that is why the cases have increased.

19- Minister of Health: I would like to express my gratitude to our cadres working in the healthcare system and those affiliated to other sectors, especially the Royal Oman Police and the Sultan Armed Forces.

20- Minister of Health: The ban can be lifted in isolated areas before May 27 if we make sure that these areas reach a certain level of drop in cases." Minister of health

21- Dr. Said Al Abri: Cases in Muscat increased due to spread of virus in labour camps and overcrowded apartments.

22- Minister of Health: The decision to allow people living outside Muscat to leave the governorate will be taken after a meeting with the Supreme Committee.

23- Minister of Health: Expats who left Oman can return depending on the airport opening.

24- Minister of Health: Plasma used for 17 cases and 5 of them got out of the ventilator after using plasma therapy.
