Muscat: India’s envoy to Oman has thanked the Sultanate’s government for their help in enabling repatriation flights for Indian expats to land in the country.
Munu Mahawar also expressed his gratitude for the healthcare measures that had been put in place to ensure the wellbeing of passengers who were flying back, as part of his government’s Vande Bharat initiative to bring back overseas Indian nationals who wished to return home.
“It is due to these efforts that this mission will be successful,” he added. “I wish to thank the Oman government for their support, particularly the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Health, the civil aviation authorities and the Royal Oman Police, for their continuous support.
“I would like to recognise the tremendous efforts made by the entire team of the Indian embassy as well as the Air India office in Muscat,” said the ambassador.
“They have been working very hard, and because of that, it has been possible for us to organise this flight. In the coming days, we will be organising more flights, and I am sure that all Indian nationals who wish to return to India for compelling reasons will be able to travel back.”
