Eight arrested for drifting in Oman

Muscat: Eight people were arrested in North Al Batinah Governorate on charges of displaying, drifting and disturbing the public peace.

A statement issued online by the Royal Oman Police (ROP), said: “North Al Batinah Governorate police Command arrested eight people in Sewaiq on charges of displaying, drifting with vehicles and disturbing public peace, legal measures were taken against them."

Social media pictures and videos showed a number of citizens drifting and disturbing the public peace with their vehicles in Sewaiq on Tuesday morning leading to people asking the ROP for action against them.
