Muscat: To further streamline and coordinate the effort to help families affected by the COVID 19 pandemic by diverse voluntary and other bodies, Dar Al Atta'a Association launched, on Sunday, an electronic platform.
Called 'Tarabot', the platform was launched with the support of Oman Technology Fund and World Web IT Solutions (Webware).
The platform is part of an effort to establish a common platform to accommodate all voluntary bodies and the parties working to help such families.
It will help all such bodies operating in the field to easily verify the support offered to the families registered with them.
Honorable Maryam bint Issa Al Zadjali, the Chairperson of Dar Al Atta’a Associationexpressed her thanks to all who have contributed to the launch of platform Tarabot, mainly Oman Technology Fund and World Web IT Solutions (Webware).
She said that majority of the voluntary bodies launch charity initiatives targeting the affected sectors and work to achieve the same objectives. Sometimes they operate in the same geographic area in the absence of a coordinating body, she added pointing out that this has led to the launch of the Tarabot platform.
The platform links charity bodies together so as to employ the capabilities of each person from within the approved charity bodies in the Sultanate offering support.
The body offering support can verify that the family has utilised / received the support and the body offering the support using the family ID number to access the platform.
Yousef bin Ali Al Harthy, Chief Executive Officer of Oman Technology Fund (OTF) said that the support of Oman Technology Fund to establish Tarabot platform aimed to bring together and under a common umbrella the efforts of bodies operating in charity work in the Sultanate.
This common umbrella is under the management of Dar Al Atta'a in coordination with the Ministry of Social Development, he added.
Ibrahim bin Saleem Al Jenaibi, Chief Executive Officer of Web IT Solutions (Webware) expressed his delight over the launch of the platform, which he said is "a common online charity platform" under the supervision of Dar Al Atta'a.
He also said that the platform services all charity associations.
