Chances of rainfall, occasional thundershowers in Oman: PACA

Muscat: There will be chances of rainfall occasionally thundershowers associated with fresh winds and hail over governorates of Musandam extending gradually to effect governorates of Buraimi, North Al Batinah, south Al Batinah, Al Dhahirah, Muscat, Al Dakhliya, North Al Sharqiyah and south Al Sharqiyah, with a chance of isolated rain over mountains and coastal areas of Dhofar governorate, Public Authority of Civil Aviation (PACA), said.

A statement issued online by the Public Authority of Civil Aviation (PACA) said, “ The aerial picture shows the flow of clouds in the most governorate with chances of cumulative cloud on the Hajar Mountains and rainfall accompanied by thunder, fresh winds and hail .”

In its weather forecast, PACA said, “Partly cloudy skies over Musandam governorate extending gradually to effect governorates of Buraimi, North Al Batinah, south Al Batinah, Al Dhahirah, Muscat, Al Dakhliya, North Al Sharqiyah and south Al Sharqiyah with a chance of isolated rain occasionally thundershowers associated with fresh winds and hail. Chances of late night to early morning low-level clouds or fog patches over parts of South Al Sharqiyah, Al Wusta and Dhofar governorates and chances of isolated rain along with the coastal areas and mountains of Dhofar governorate. "

The expected maximum and minimum temperatures will be 41 degrees Celsius and 32 degrees in Muscat, 32 degrees and 28 degrees in Salalah, 39 degrees and 31 degrees in Khasab, 36 degrees and 31 degrees in Sohar, 42 degrees and 32 degrees in Sur, 40 degrees and 30 degrees in Nizwa, 41 degrees and 30 degrees in Ibri and 42 degrees and 31 degrees in Buraimi.

The Oman News Agency (ONA), said, “The highest temperature expected on Saturday is 42degrees in the wilayats of Sur and Buraimi and the lowest is 17 degrees in Jabal Shams.”
