Two passenger flights to repatriate Pakistani nationals from Oman

Muscat: The first set of passenger flights for the repatriation of around 280 Pakistani nationals in Oman have been scheduled by the Embassy of Pakistan on Friday, May 1, 2020.
In an exclusive interview with the Times of Oman, KK Ahasan Wagan, Ambassador of Pakistan in Oman confirmed that two passenger flights, through Pakistan International Airline, have been arranged by the Embassy of Pakistan in Oman in coordination with the authorities in Pakistan.
“The Embassy has been working round the clock to provide consular services and assistance to our community members. Due to closure of airports, flights were suspended. As a result, a large number of Pakistani passengers were stuck in many countries including Oman. However, the Government of Pakistan has decided to immediately make arrangements for the repatriation of such stranded Pakistani nationals. Therefore, the Embassy in coordination with concerned Pakistani authorities arranged two flights, one each for Karachi and Faisalabad, for the repatriation of Pakistani nationals carrying 140 passengers each flight. These flights will operate on May 1, 2020,” Wagan said.
He added that so far, more than 3000 Pakistani nationals in Oman who wish to return have registered with the Embassy. “We assure and are hopeful that we will soon accommodate all the requests made at the Embassy by those who have requested to fly back to Pakistan. I would request everyone to be patient and stay positive as we will be preparing to send another batch soon.”
