Regulations issued for Central Fruit and Vegetable Market in Muscat

Muscat: Muscat Municipality has announced work regulations which will be in force at the Central Market for Vegetables and Fruits.

A statement issued online by the municipality said, "Muscat Municipality, in order to take health and safety measures and to apply the regulatory and traffic measures in the central market for vegetables and fruits, clarifies the following regulations:

1- Retail activity will be resumed from Wednesday, April 29, 2020 from 12:00 pm until 8:00 pm throughout the week except on Fridays when it will be closed for maintenance, sterilization and cleaning.

2- Light vehicles are prohibited from entering the market. Vehicles will be directed to park in the parking space located on the western side of the market where more than 370 parking spots will be provided and planned for. Individuals to enter the market through the side gates.

3- Wearing masks and medical gloves is an important requirement to enter the market.

4- Shopping carts will be provided to transport market visitors' purchases free of charge and there are expatriate workers to transport the goods for the customers.

5- The individuals aged between 12 and 60 years will be allowed to enter the market.

6- The time of wholesale trade activity is from 4 am to 11 am.
