Expats arrested for selling substandard food in Oman

Muscat: Inspectors of the Food Safety and Quality Department have arrested expatriate workers for selling food not fit for human consumption at wilayat Salalah, Dhofar.

A statement issued online by the Ministry of Regional Municipalities and Water Resources said: "The inspectors, in cooperation with Dhofar Municipality have arrested expatriate workers who sell vegetables, fruits and fish not fit for human consumption, in the state of Salalah."

"The items were confiscated and destroyed," the statement added.
