Muscat: The Public Prosecution (PP) has announced stringent measures against anyone using services which are suspended in the Sultanate in the middle of the coronavirus pandemic.
In a statement, the PP said, "The prosecution has started investigating a number of beneficiaries of the suspended services by the Supreme Committee to deal with COVID-19, such as sheesha cafes, barber and beauty salons and a number of them were placed in a remand prison for investigation."
"The Public Prosecution also arrested promoters and the publishers of fake video clips. All of these constitute a violation of public order and the criminal prosecution included those who republished and resent them."
The Public Prosecution calls upon citizens and residents not to publish any news or information related to the epidemic, except those sourced from official sources.
