PACP bans two hand sanitizers in Oman

Muscat: The Public Authority for Consumer Protection (PACP) has issued a decision to discontinue the use of two sanitizers as its components do not meet the standard specifications.

According to the authority, Perfect sanitizer and Clean Touch Hand sanitizer gel are the two sanitizers that have been banned.

The ministry in its statement said, "The reason for banning the two products is due to a lower percentage of ethanol, which must be more than 60 per cent and aids in getting rid of germs, was detected in their composition. In addition, a high-level of methanol, which is a highly flammable substance and affects the nervous system, cause irritation to the respiratory system, skin and eyes, was found in these products."
