Muscat: The Special Economic Zone Authority at Dqum (Sezad) formed a dedicated team to develop a response plan for the emergency cases arising out COVID 19 spread in the Special Economic Zone at Duqm (SEZD).
The team is led by Mahmoud bin Hamoud Al Rawahi, Director General of Control and Compliance at Sezad and including members of other officials representing corporates operation in the Special Economic Zone at Duqm.
The team is responsible for developing a response plan for the emergency cases arising out of COVID 19 spread in any corporate operating in the Special Economic Zone at Duqm as well as following up the execution of the plan in coordination with the authorities concerned.
The decision, issued by Dr Ismail bin Ahmed Al Balushi, CEO of the Special Economic Zone Authority at Duqm, granted the formed team the authority to seek assistance from different administrative departments of Sezad and the projects operating in SEZD, and request relevant data, information and supporting documents from these departments. Directors of these departments and projects should fully support the team in handling the assigned responsibilities as per this decision.
The decision has been taken in the interest of the Special Economic Zone Authority at Duqm to implement the decisions and instructions issued by the Supreme Committee concerned with following up the developments of COVID 19. According to the decision, the team meetings shall be conducted through the well-known digital meeting-related techniques.
In line with its ongoing support to the government’s efforts to combat the spread of COVID 19 in the Sultanate, Sezad has already issued a number of circulars to companies operating in the Special Economic Zone at Duqm to abide by the decisions and instructions issued by the Supreme Committee.
