Oman State Council's Economic Committee hosts World Bank officials

Muscat: State Council Economic Committee chaired by Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Harthy, hosted on Tuesday Renaud Seligmann, Practice Manager, Governance Global Practice for the Arab Region at the World Bank (WB) and Dr. Lubna Abdullatif, Advisor to International Bank who is residing in the Sultanate and Khalid bin Saif Al Busaidi, from the Macro Finance Unit at the Ministry of Finance.
The hosting comes within the agreement between the Ministry of Finance and World Bank by which the WB provides technical support to the Omani side. During the meeting, the two sides shared views and expertise on the role of parliament in discussing budget and plan.
It should be noted that the WB has signed a framework agreement with the Ministry of Finance in 2013 by which the WB will provide technical support to the Ministry of Finance in a number of fields including public investments, the integration of development budget and other areas as well.
