Ministry produces medical equipment to fight COVID-19 pandemic

Muscat: The Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCI), in cooperation with the Public Establishment for Industrial Estates (Madayn), Oman Technology Fund (OTC) and some SMEs specialised in the field of 3D printing technologies, has succeeded to produce a number of equipment and tools used in the health sector, in light of the rapid spread COVID-19 pandemic in the world.
It has also coordinated with one of the plastic production plants in the Sultanate to produce plastic materials for protective clothing, according to the specifications of the Ministry of Health to start the local production of these materials, after being approved by the Ministry of Health and the Directorate-General for Specifications and Metrology at the MoCI.
The MoCI pointed out that it welcomes all initiatives related to industries that could serve the health sector in particular or any other sector in the current circumstances.
