Muscat: The Sultan's Armed Forces continue to prepare their precautionary plans and form field teams to deal with COVID-19
A statement issued by the Ministry of Defence said: "The Royal Army of Oman, represented by the engineering corps of the Sultan Armed Forces, continues to prepare its precautionary plans and form field teams that have been assigned to sterilize army equipment, as well as roads and public areas, so that they are able to respond according to their capabilities.
"In addition to training on developments that may take place in context to the coronavirus pandemic, according to the variables of the situation and rapidly-changing events, these teams have been adapting to the current needs, so that they are in line with readiness required to carry out any duties assigned," explained the statement
"This is in accordance with the procedures taken by the Supreme Committee to deal with the spread of COVID-19," added the Ministry of Defence. "This comes within the framework of national roles and duties, and is a continuation of the efforts of the Sultan Armed Forces in combating the coronavirus and limiting its spread, along with all other institutions and sectors in the country.”
This also comes within the framework of the national efforts and roles provided by the Ministry of Defence and the Sultan's Armed Forces to citizens and residents of the homeland, alongside other government institutions.
