Oman's State Council to discuss Draft Cultural Heritage Law on Tuesday

Muscat: A draft of the proposed Cultural Heritage Law will be taken up by the State Council for discussion on Tuesday.
The draft has been referred to the State Council by the Council of Ministers.
The State Council will hold today its 5th session of the second annual sitting of the sixth term.
Besides the Draft Cultural Heritage Law, it will also discuss the Report of the Culture, Media and Tourism Committee on the draft Law, as well as the report of Majlis A’Shura on it.
During the 7th session, that will be held on Wednesday, the State Council will discuss the proposal of the education and research committee on the study titled ‘Revising the Duplication of Programmes and Majors at Higher Education Institutions’.
It will also discuss the proposal by the economic committee to amend the economic development law issued by the Royal Decree No.9/75.
It will also review the report on the State Council’s participation in the conference for the Arab Parliament and for speakers of the Arab parliaments and councils.
It will also review the program me for enhancing cooperation between the State Council and SQU, as well as the Secretariat General report on the activities of the state council during the period between its 4th, 5th and sixth sessions.
It should be noted that the fifth and sixth sessions will be held under the chair of Dr. Yahya bin Mahfoudh Al Manthrei, Chairman of the State Council at the meetings Hall in the premises of the State Council in Al Bustan.
