Oman crime: Six people arrested for fraud

Muscat: Six people of Asian nationalities were arrested by the Directorate of Inquiries and Criminal Investigations of Police Headquarter at Al Dhahira Governorate on charges of committing fraud at Ibri and Yanqul.
An official source at Royal Oman Police stated that the accused entered shops for purchasing inexpensive commodities and gave the vendor OMR50.
After the shopkeeper gave the balance the person asked for another item and when the vendor went to bring it he would steal from the shop.
After initial investigation, it was shown that these people were wanted in several fraud and theft related cases in different governorates.
The source asked the vendors and owners of shops to be more cautious and take the neccessary actions to protect their shops by installing monitoring cameras.
Meanwhile, the Royal Oman Police repatriated 49 Asian national infiltrators through Muscat International Airport following judgments which ordered their deportation in view of illegal entry.
