Barka housing project foundation stone today

Muscat: The Supreme Council of Planning (SCP) will celebrate the laying of foundation stone for the integrated residential project in the Wilayat of Barka today under the patronage of Sheikh Saif bin Mohammed Al Shabibi, Minister of Housing.
The project comes to support the existing housing policies in the Sultanate, represented in the search for suitable alternatives to provide adequate housing for citizens eligible for residential land grants.
This project is the-first-of-its kind in the Sultanate.
It is based on partnership between the public and private sectors and will be attributed to one of the leading real estate companies to develop the project according to the best standards.
The project will include an integrated system of infrastructure, social and service facilities including mosques, health and commercial centres, public parks and open sports fields.
These residential neighbourhoods will be open to citizens wishing to acquire suitable, comfortable and affordable housing.
The project aims at enhancing the ownership of homes in the Sultanate through the development of quality housing in integrated neighbourhoods at reasonable prices, providing new alternatives to reduce the demand for eligible citizens under the Land Law and its annexes, as well as stimulating the economy and reducing government spending by involving the private sector in this project, in addition to reducing the government spending on infrastructure to serve the land plots provided by the Government. The project is considered the first joint cooperation between the SCP and the Ministry of Housing, represented by the Directorate General for Real Estate Development.
