Muscat: Sumuka Friends defeated Coastal Cricket Club by 13 runs to lift the title at the first Tely Boyz Box Cricket Tournament organised at the Muscat Club here recently.
The eight-a-side tournament, which was inaugurated by Indian cricketer S. Sreesanth, attracted 15 teams including two squads comprising all schoolboys.
Earlier in the semifinals, Sumuka Friends defeated Nakheel United and Coastal Cricket Club overcame Chalumbees Cricket Club.

Deepak of Sumuka Friends was adjudged man of the final, Shahabas of Chalumbees was named best player of the tournament. Mohammed Oliyath of Nakheel United and Vishnu of Yuvi Stars were named as promising young stars. The awards were presented by Majid Al Wahaibi, General Secretary of Muscat Club, Oman Cricket curator C.K. Anoop and Javis Ahmed, former Kerala State Hockey Player.
