Fewer juvenile offenders in Oman last year

Muscat: The number of juvenile offenders in Oman has reduced in 2016 compared to the previous year with 445 arrested, according to data by the Ministry of Social Development.

According to the ministry, 445 juveniles were registered for the whole of 2016 compared 506 in 2015, 423 in 2014 and 457 in 2013.

The data shows that 137 juveniles were caught in North Al Batinah Governorate followed by 68 in Muscat Governorate while A’Dakhiliya Governorate registering 53. South and North Al Sharqiyah registered 47 juveniles and 38 respectively. Al Dhahira registered 34.
