PACDA marks World Civil Defence Day in Oman

Sohar: Public Authority for Civil Defence and Ambulance (PACDA) marked yesterday at the International Maritime College Oman in the Wilayat of Sohar the World Civil Defence Day under the theme “Together with Civil Defence Against Disasters”.
The function was held under the patronage of Maj-Gen. Ahmed bin Ali Kashoob, Secretary General of the National Security Council at the Royal Office and member of the PACDA Board, in the presence of Assistant Inspector General of Police and Customs for Operations, the Chairman of PACDA, the Governor of North Al Batinah, directors of governmental and private departments and citizens from the Governorate of North Al Batinah.
A documentary was screened at the ceremony about PACDA services. Secretary General of the National Security Council at the Royal Office and visitors inspected the civil defence and ambulance equipment exhibition at the end of the ceremony, with the participation of International Maritime College Oman.
The exhibition also contains several awareness pictures. Maj-Gen. Kashoob also toured the outside exhibition which displayed the vehicles of civil defence and ambulance.
On the sidelines of the ceremony a joint exercise was executed at Sohar industrial area to deal with incidents of possible risks.
It is worth mentioning that the events of training coupled with education to the requirements of public safety in the open exhibition at the municipal park in the Wilayat of Sohar will continue until March 3.
