Muscat: With India cancelling travel visas, the Omani embassy in New Delhi has issued a travel advisory to its citizens.
India suspended all tourist visas until April 15 and said it would quarantine travellers arriving from seven virus-hit countries as it attempts to contain the spread of the new coronavirus.
In a statement issued on Thursday, the embassy said: “We would like to inform that the Indian government has issued a decision to cancel the entry visas due to the outbreak of the Coronavirus, and citizens who wish to travel should wait until the situation is under control.”
"Citizens in India should exercise caution and stay away from gatherings and use the required methods of protection. In the event of any urgent matter, contact the embassy in New Delhi or the consulate in Mumbai," the embassy added.
