Muscat: To augment the expertise of local professionals, Eshraqa, the Corporate Social Development Arm of Khimji Ramdas recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) Oman for Human Capital Development of various members of the IIA.
According to the MoU, 50 IIA members who are Omani nationals will be trained on various professional development programmes and international certifications to develop their skills through Eshraqa’s Training Initiative for Nationals (Eshraqa Mentors Programme).
With the common goal of facilitating comprehensive professional educational and developmental opportunities, Eshraqa and IIA will work together to identify and then craft custom programmes in line with the personal competencies outlined in the IIA Global Framework required for the individual internal auditors. Participants will be trained in the areas of interpersonal and intrapersonal skills such as communication, persuasion skills, critical thinking, leadership skills, critical business skills, and the effective use of MS Excel as a business intelligence tool amongst others.
Commenting on Eshraqa’s motivation to develop the leaders of tomorrow, Nailesh Khimji, Director, Khimji Ramdas said, “We are extremely delighted to collaborate with IIA to provide essential training opportunities for their members. These sessions will be designed with utmost care to match the requirements of IIA while providing them with skills required that will help them develop personally and also enhance their careers. We look forward to mentoring them on best practices and techniques that will allow them to add value to their respective organisations.”
Successful IIA members will further undergo a 3-day intensive training for ILM UK, Train the Trainer certification program to mature into effective trainers. This course will impart best-practise standards for facilitation, instructional design and competency framework including other pertinent subjects that will enable them to take this initiative to the practising Omani Internal Auditors.
IIA Oman President Muneer Almughairy commented on the competency of Eshraqa team. He said, “Eshraqa team’s real-time knowledge and commitment towards the development of professional Omani Internal Auditors to be equipped with the required competency to be considered as added value and trusted advisors which is the main focus of IIA Oman board of directors is laudable. We are extremely pleased with this partnership and look forward to fruitful future associations.” He added “IIA Oman has also signed MoU with Oman Aviation Group to Support IIA Oman in fulfilling its travel logistics. IIA Oman is open and will explore other partnership with key stakeholders to better serve the members and Internal Audit profession in Oman.”
