NBC event highlights labour law and regulations

Muscat: The National Business Centre (NBC), which pertains to the Public Establishment for Industrial Estates - Madayn, organised on Tuesday the first discussion session this year with Small and Medium Enterprises as part of NBC’s Mashura initiative at Riyada incubator.
Held in cooperation with the Public Authority for Small and Medium Enterprises Development, the event featured officials from the Ministry of Manpower comprising Salim bin Abdulaziz Al Meshaikhi, Director General of Employment, and Yasser bin Salim Al Busafi, Head of Clearance Department for SMEs at the ministry.
The discussion session, which was attended by a number of entrepreneurs and business owners, highlighted laws and legislations including the labour law, regulations and ministerial decisions, in addition to information of interest to the employees including employee rights and duties and non-Omani labour guidelines. The officials of the Ministry of Manpower emphasised that the ministry is undertaking constant efforts to support Small and Medium Enterprises and the entrepreneurs’ community in the Sultanate through providing necessary services and incentives to support and serve these projects. To achieve this, the ministry has allocated its service outlets and communication channels in the various governorates and wilayats of the Sultanate.
It is worth mentioning that Mashura event consists of a series of discussion sessions that raise awareness on various topics of interest to the entrepreneurs to enhance the entrepreneurial environment. These sessions also aim to disseminate awareness among the entrepreneurs on the various adopted procedures in the country by the public and private bodies. Madayn seeks through NBC to achieve the objectives related to developing the SMEs in the Sultanate and encourage various companies to support these SMEs.
