Muscat: Majlis Al Shura has been following up with a great interest, the efforts made by officials in the Ministry of Health, including practical steps to pursue the precautionary measures to tackle the new coronavirus (COVID-19).
This came during the 7th regular session of the 1st annual sitting (2019/2020) of the 9th term (2019-2023), which was held under the chair of Khalid bin Hilal Al Ma’awali, Chairman of Majlis Al Shura.
As part of Majlis Al Shura’s keenness, represented by the Health and Environmental Committee, to increase coordination with the Ministry of Health and various related authorities, it will continue to follow up these efforts. It discussed the opinion of the Services and Social Development Committee on a number of air transport agreements referred by the government, including air services agreement between Oman and the government of Belarus, air services agreement between the government of the Sultanate and the government of the Republic of Gambia, and an air transport agreement between the Sultanate and the Republic of Australia.
The session also discussed and approved the opinion of the Economic and Financial Committee on the framework agreement for the establishment of the International Solar Alliance (ISA), referred by the Council of Ministers.
The session reviewed some ministerial responses to some remarks raised by the members of the Majlis.
Heads of the committees also reviewed the quarterly report of the activities of the standing committees from the beginning of the first annual sitting until February. The committees in Majlis Al Shura are implementing their plans that were approved at the beginning of the current sitting in accordance with a specific timetable.
